drive 26

drive 26

tried to medicate with music
but my thoughts wouldn't center...
...thoughts wouldn't center
that Cheshire grin won't work tonight
not this time
no... not this time
crazy I think of you
at times like this
when my mortal coil
...is at its end.

Comments:
Nice attempt! Just don't try this while driving!

"tried to medicate with music but my thoughts wouldn't center . . ." Great description. An exacting stream-of-consciousness. I am right there with you. In your head. What are we listening to? Who are we thinking of?

Hey, not bad! And you didn't slurrrr or anything!! Whenever I write poetry drunk, I can't read it the next day.
:(
And I know it is some good stuff.

I would try to blog drunk, but I think I would just tell everyone I love them, while trying to put my arm around the computer screen.

i realy like this.
i like the description of the cheshire grin not working tonight. the reader knows everything they need to by that phrase alone. and i like the repeat of 'thoughts wouldn't center'.
will there be a follow up hangover piece? ;)

Bleh. Oh well, it wasn't as bad as it couldv'e been :-) Hey, no real hangover either!

Anon: I usually take William Faulkner to the next level!

Mel & Potted: *shrug* I didn't write it. My social-alcoholic alter-ego wrote it.

Elle: LMFAO! Yep, I Loooooooooove you maaaaaaaaan! I either get that way or very introspective (which I was last night)

DeeM: Actually, this poem is about something different than the subject to which it hints / infers.. But I can't even explain it! I'll try...

Its not about a person per se. Moreso about my darker, aggressive self trying to escape... while I strain to resist it.

Ok.. I'll be going now *slinks off like Gollum/Smeagol*

Ah, that's more interesting now. i guess my mind went into a different direction because the story beforehand, imagining you may have ran into an old flame there. I wonder where my mind would have gone had you not prefaced it.
no hangover? no fair.
lord of the rings, eh? loved it! saw all three in one weekend.

drunk blogging... was it as good for you??

nice post though drunk or sober =)

I really like that.
Music does medicate sometimes. It fills some of the grooves and crevaces in my mind when my greymatter feels like it is splitting and cracking.
I write poems on programs, knapkins, etc... too.

I raise my Guinness to ya.
cheers.

love drunken posts, bravo!

Mel / Deem: Oh yeah, I'm a huge LOTR dork, D&D, name it. *blush* I still play online MMORPG's deep into the night. (GEEK ALERT)

Hun: Great analogy with the grin/cement! Tasty!

Potted: LOL, I neeeever schlurrrr!

Stella/Mitzee/Bug: I think I'm going to create an alt blog just for my drunken posts, LMAO! You have NO FRIGGING IDEA, lol!

Twisted: *raises Guinness* A toast to our wives and girlfriends.... and may they never meet! Hehe. Nice to meet you Twisted, I like your site!

as always, thanks for taking time out of your day! It's 7pm and I'm finally leaving work!

Miss you guys!

Haha, you ARE a geek. It took me an hour to figure out what D&D is. Maybe that makes me the geek. Or just slow.

Pot: Ohhh honey-child, I played that game years ago! If your gonna go geek, go GEEK!

Everquest2 or World of Warcraft

poetry at 60 miles an hour.

nice.
